Evans survives late Rally, defeates Evans in 108

Rashad Evans survived a late rally from Thiago Silva, and used his wresteling skills to pull off the win in UFC 108.

“I didn’t realize how hard it was until I tried to step back and thought ‘where are my legs,”‘ Evans said of the big blow.

Evans controlled the fight, but a frustrated Alves wouldn’t quit, and taunted Evans to come at him in the third round. One bad decision by Evans would lead to a good right by Alves, putting a dazed Evans on the cage.

Evans pulled out the win, the crowd responded with boos.

The win sets Evans up for a 205-pound showdown, possibly in March, with rival Quinton (Rampage) Jackson in a matchup of coaches from Season 10 of “The Ultimate Fighter.”
